Report of Mentor – mentee meeting 2019 MBBS batch on 29/11/19
The first Mentor-mentee meeting of 2019 MBBS batch students and their mentors was successfully conducted as a part of the mentorship programme on 29th November 2019 in Lecture Theater-1 & 2, HIMSR between 3-4pm. Dr. Neha Gupta, Co-ordinator Mentorship programme, welcomed the Faculty and all students of 2019 MBBS batch. The students had been sensitized by her about the concept of mentorship in medicine during their foundation course in August. She briefly informed students how the mentorship programme was being run under guidance of the Dean, HIMSR. The mentors and mentees were requested to have frequent healthy interactions, as per their convenience, in college or hospital premises, at least four monthly or earlier if required. The student mentees were urged to freely communicate with their mentors for any academic and non-academic issues related to them. E mail id himsrmentorship@gmail.com was shared with students and faculty to facilitate feedback and communication. Dr Chandra Mohan, Professor Paediatrics reinforced the importance of mentorship in medicine. Later, students of MBBS 2019 batch and their mentors freely interacted with each other. The meeting was attended by 31 faculty mentors and 87 students. The meeting was rounded off with high tea for the Faculty and students.
