DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOLOGY
The Department of Physiology at the Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Jamia Hamdard is dedicated to training of Undergraduate and Postgraduate students of the highest caliber. Taught by some of the leading innovators in the field of Physiology, our students receive a strong foundation in the basic sciences. Our department educate students in the principles underlying medical physiology. The faculty provides substantial leadership and participation in the research training of undergraduate and postgraduate students. The department has several defined areas of research study, including Venom and Toxins, Cardiac Hypertrophy and Failure, Sports Physiology, Lifestyle Modification interventions, Diabetes, Nanoparticles and Drug discovery from natural sources.

The Mission of the Department of Physiology is to carry out robust scientific research and employ interactive student centric teaching methods, culminating in excellence in both research and teaching.
Our goal is to teach and train independent, creative, productive scholars in the physiological sciences and develop world class infrastructure to implement this.
